BCHS associates recognized with national award

Tammy Clinger, director of resource management at Battle Creek Health System is the recipient of the 2009 Healthtrust 'Social Stewardship' Award. The honor recognizes her
advocacy for and efforts to re-process single-use devices in the workplace which not only saves money, but also reduces the amounts of debris in the waste stream.

Of her recognition, Clinger says, "One person can make a difference. We all have a part to play in social stewardship. Even if you don't count the dollars that we save, we do it because it's the right thing to do."

The eight national winners were announced at a conference in Nashville, Tennessee and highlighted in the fall issue of The Source magazine. She joined BCHS in 1997.
