Bronson Health System Overview

Bronson Healthcare Group is a not-for-profit, community-governed healthcare system headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo is a 405-bed, all-private room regional referral center providing care in virtually every specialty. It has advanced capabilities in critical care as a Level I Trauma Center; in neurological care as a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center; in cardiac care as the region's first accredited Chest Pain Center; in obstetrics as the leading BirthPlace and only high-risk pregnancy center in southwest Michigan, and in pediatrics as the only children's hospital in the region. The hospital serves the largest percentage of Medicaid patients in the area and provides a substantial benefit to the community through outreach and charitable care.

Bronson Methodist Hospital is recognized as a national leader in healthcare quality. Among its achievements is the 2005 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's highest presidential honor for quality and organizational performance excellence. In 2009, the hospital received the AHA McKesson Quest for Quality Prize awarded annually to only one U.S. hospital and joined the top five percent of hospitals in the nation designated a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence. Bronson is currently ranked in the top five percent of hospitals in the nation as a 2010-11 HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence and is one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals (2010 & 2011) according to Thomson Reuters.

Bronson Battle Creek Hospital is a 218-bed, all-private room community hospital providing a full range of outpatient and inpatient acute care including robotic surgery, world-class diagnostics, and rehabilitation services. It is recognized as one of the country's safest hospitals and has been a leader in the development of electronic health records as evidenced by multiple honors as one of America's 'most wired' and 'most wireless' hospitals. The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons recognizes it as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer program, the only hospital in Michigan to receive that honor twice. Specialty services include one of Calhoun County's largest accredited sleep centers and a wound-healing center with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Bronson LakeView Hospital in Paw Paw is a 35-bed, all-private room critical access hospital serving Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties. It offers a wide range of acute care services including surgery, geriatric psychology and emergency care. Outpatient services are provided at the hospital as well as at Bronson LakeView Outpatient Center in Paw Paw and at rural health clinics in Decatur, Lawton, Marcellus and Mattawan. Services include behavioral health, home health, rehabilitation, pharmacy, diagnostics and a host of specialty clinics.

Bronson Vicksburg Outpatient Center in southern Kalamazoo County provides a wide range of outpatient services. These include a full-service Emergency Department as well as lab, diagnostics, and outpatient therapies including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Bronson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located in the southeast corner of Van Buren County in Lawton, is a 115-bed skilled nursing center offering extensive rehabilitation therapies. It is part of the full continuum of care that Bronson provides to patients and families in southwest Michigan.
