BCHS director receives state award

Penny Shaull, (center) director of health information management at Battle Creek Health System was recognized recently with the 2009 Community Service and Professional Service Award from the Gift of Life Foundation in Michigan. She is one of only six in the state to receive the award.

She improved organ donation in Battle Creek by speeding up the hospital's notification given to Gift of Life when a patient becomes a potential organ donor.
