Bronson Battle Creek takes the lead in managing problem wounds

For most people, wound healing is a natural, uneventful process. But for others, it becomes a complex medical problem requiring specialized treatment and care.

Failure to successfully resolve acute and chronic non-healing wounds represents a multi-billion dollar national health care expenditure each year. In addition to the economic costs, the personal tragedies have resulted in the development of specialized centers for managing and resolving challenging medical problems.

Bronson Battle Creek has made a major commitment to this area by establishing the Wound Healing Center. The center opened in November of 2000, and recently has undergone more improvements and technology upgrades. In May of 2010 it moved to a new location on the first floor within the outpatient center. New and expanded quarters have made the Center a very attractive and comforting atmosphere for patients and staff.

Since problem wounds are often associated with other underlying medical conditions, the center is specifically designed to combine wound care with ongoing health care.

Patients are consulted at the request of referring physicians and then enter an appropriate inpatient or outpatient program for evaluation and wound care.
